Re: Runner annoyances...
I got chased down by a big nasty pit bull once...somehow the owner let it loose by accident. Thankfully it did not maul me. I'll take a yippy dog over that kind of monster anytime.

I hate when the public water fountains in the park close for the winter on the day of my long run, when I'm relying on them.

I hate when the public bathrooms in the park close for the winter on the day of my long run...when I end up REALLY needing them.

hahaha yes! i always want to do that, but im scared that the person will be crazy or something!

i agree about bugs...so annoying!

how about these:
-stepping in a puddle and getting your shoe/sock all wet.
-people honking/whistling at you. sometimes flattering, other times annoying. the other day some old guy in a work truck whistled at me out his window. i turned around and gave him a funny look haha.

Re: Runner annoyances...
Members of the male sex whistling/yelling = annoying. Females whistling/yelling = flattering. With the males though, I pretty much know what to expect ("Run Forrest!"). It's definitely not over-used though<with extreme sarcasm.

People that walk on a jogging trail three abreast, unwilling to move over... all over the jogging trail... making you have to play dodge the walkers the entire run.

Re: Runner annoyances...
men in trucks who honk and whistle and are just pigs. i always flick them off. pardon me, but i take my running seriously- im not training to walk down some runway for some pageant. how insulting, i work my *** off to reach the level of performance i have reached. theres not many things in life that make me this mad. some people take it as flattery. i just dont see how. i am a RUNNER #*#^$(@!!!!!!!!

Ooooh, there's another good one. I hate reading all of those smarmy New-Engalnder's posts who think it's hardcore to run in sub zero temps. I've done it too, and it's nothing like running in the Texas summer heat. Running in the cold is very uncomfortable, but runnning in the heat affects everything about my running, every single time. And after I'm done, I have to drink no less than 80 oz. of water.

Re: Runner annoyances...
Hearing those from the south talk about how the heat is a "dry heat".

Yea, we have sub-zero temps and one can dress approprately to run in that, but when it gets to be 95+ temp with 90+ Rh, all you do is sweat from the time you wake up at 5 am.

Cars that don't move in the other lane when no other cars are coming the other way.
