Diamond Jaxx Fastpitch, based in Franklin, Tennessee, just south of Nashville, is a travel softball team entering its 4th season. Our program is focused on developing skills, hard work, sportsmanship, accountability, achieving potential, and team. The Jaxx Fastpitch organization is a year-round program whose coaches have over 16 years of playing experience including secondary and collegiate experience and over 20 years of coaching experience. The club has access to the indoor and outdoor facilities for conditioning, training, and playing necessary to build strong, competent athletes ready to compete at the high school level and beyond. Over the past two years, the Jaxx earned a 3rd place finish in the 2010 USSSA World Series, won a 2010 USSSA state championship, have played in ten tournament finals winning 8 championships, have 3 additional top-4 finishes, and just finished competing with over 105 teams in the 2011 12U USFA World Series in Panama City Beach, Florida from July 10th-16th finishing in the top 30. Diamond Jaxx Fastpitch consists of primarily ’98 players moving to 14U for the Fall 2011 season and will hold their annual, open tryouts at the location noted at the end of this posting on the following dates: PAST TRYOUT DATES: Saturday, August 6th @ 2:00pm Sunday, August 7th @ 3:00pm, UPCOMING/LAST TRYOUT DATES FOR FALL 2011/SPRING 2012: Saturday, August 20th @ 2:00pm Sunday, August 21st @ 3:00pm. If needed, individual and small-group tryouts can also be accommodated on additional dates and times. Primarily '97 and '98, and, possibly, extremely advanced '99 birth-year players are welcome and encouraged to attend tryouts, and all positions will be evaluated. Past extended experience with an established travel softball team will potentially be a plus, and interested athletes must have advanced defensive, hitting, speed, strength, and agility skills. Please contact us early if you are interested in attending tryouts as we usually evaluate 35-50 athletes each year for 11-12 roster slots. After the tryouts outlined above, the team will tentatively begin their fall tournament schedule the weekend of August 27th and will potentially play 5-7 fall tournaments through the end of October. The plan for the 2011-2012 season will be to play a series of tournaments in a mixture of sanctionings including ASA tournaments pursuing a berth in the ASA Nationals. We have and plan to continue to play approximately 12-15 tournaments per year beginning our spring tournament schedule soon after school seasons wrap up and finishing around the end of October.
