Running Shoes for Kids

My 6 year old son has shown an interest in running with me. I want to do things right and move slow. One thing I want to be careful about is his feet. Any suggestions on good running shoes for kids that are affordable?

It can be hard to find good running shoes in small sizes. Fit is really crucial, more important than anything else. Most stores like Finish Line have a few models of kids' running shoes, usually Nike or NB. Also, when he's a little older and ready for better shoes, women's shoes in small sizes are a good option. (My son had very small feet and wore women's shoes through middle school because the smallest men's shoes were too big.)

my son who is 9 just joined the track team we found a pair of NIKE running sneakers (NO not the shox) small sizes are always tough and he's in between sizes not yet big but not small either good luck finding a pair of sneakers as long as he's comfortable in them, fit well and he's having fun then i'm sure they will be fine
When i did the turkey trot last november i saw lots of children running in all kinds of sneakers from NIKE basketball hightops to payless light up sneakers.
