Re: Why is Men's Running Apparel So Boring?
I remember those days. Candy-stripe dolfins, and the paneled ones. I had a bunch. Also the cool split shorts where the split went all the way up to the waistband!

GOOD NEWS! The flag shorts are back, you can find them at www.soark.com[/URL" target="_blank"> !

It takes a real man to wear pink

I don't buy black for grey because its not bright enough for early mornings, I do yellow and reds.

Agreed.

Add to that the clothes are just going to end up in a sweaty heap post-workout, we're just not that fussy!

I´m ok with black.

In fact, all my running cloaths are either black, white or blue.

The only thing orange is a part of my shoes (Mizuno Wave). But if they had it in blue I would had buy it.

Well, the guy wearing the pink tu-tu and at a recent road race couldn't quite hide when he made a rest stop in the nearby bushes.

Built-On-Athletics (B.O.A.) usually offers some nifty patterns on men's shorts:

There doesn't seem to be a huge selection at the company site right now, but I've bought their brand from other online running shops before. The Soark brand stuff is good too, but I like the quality and cut of the BOA gear a little better.

Today, at the race I wore a grey shirt and blood red tights. I thought I looled pretty good!

My wife loves to see me in the colorful stuff.

The problem's not with the clothes, it's with the wearer. Women's bodies can make most anything look good .

You obviously havn't been around long enough to remember Dolfin running shorts. They were "The" shorts back in the mid 70' through early 80's. As I recall, they were very short and very colorful. I had several pair. They came in lots of different solid colors, as well as strips and patters. They didn't have a liner either, which I miss. All my current shorts are either Blue, Gray, Black or Green. However, since Blue is my favorite color, I can live with it.

I used to have a pair of green and white striped shorts as well as a red and blue 4-panel pair. I'd totally wear the 4-panel today. (Are you listening, Soark? )

Maybe you should pick up cycling. They have choice outfits.

I prefer the "boring" clothes.

That video is brilliant! I'm inspired...next time I see a local 5K that I know I'll win, I should wear a pink running skirt...ooh that would be rich...
