The 29th Day of August, 2011

After a couple days off du to illness and a hurricane, I am back at it.  And it is a good day today, sunny but cooler.  Not quite ideal but better than 90 degrees.  I ran 5 miles, including 8 hill repeats and 2.5 miles barefoot.  I did the hill repeats and another half-mile barefoot (sort of).  To try to stay away from the blisters I sometimes get, I left my socks on.  They're an older pair and I figured the worst I would do is trash the socks.  It worked!  Kept the blisters away and the socks are OK too.  Maybe a little dirtier than usual but no holes.  It's a funny feeling to put the shoes back on after being barefoot.  Almost feels like running with foam pillows tied to your feet.  And these were "lightweight trainers", not your typical cushioned shoes.  Good day for a good run.
