The Pitching Clinic
The Pitching Clinic is for girls age 7 and up who are interested in learning the craft of pitching Fast Pitch Softball. The clinic is designed for pitchers of all abilities. The program will run eight weeks beginning October 2nd. Pitchers will be grouped according to age, ability, and comfort. The following will be covered:
• Basic Mechanics
• Advanced Mechanics
• In Season/Off Season Conditioning
• Proper Stretching & Warm up
• Different Pitches (drop, curve, knuckle, change up)
• Situation Pitching
• Pitcher/Catcher Communication
• Rules of the Games (high school, ASA, NCAA)
• Individual Goal Setting
• Pitch Selection & Location The pitching clinic will provide all the education, training and experience a pitcher can handle. If the pitcher has the ability and desire to succeed, she will. We believe in developing confidence in our pitchers so that they will always be ready. There will be lectures, videotaping, demonstrations and experience drills to help our pitchers develop the confidence known as the “Winners Edge.”
The Hitting Clinic
The Hitting Clinic is for girls ages 7 and up who are interested in learning the craft of hitting Fastpitch Softball. The clinic is designed for batters of all abilities.

The program will cover the following:
• Breakdown Swing
• Soft Toss Drills
• Batting Cage Work

• Bunting Techniques

• Situational Batting Strategies

• Live Pitching Drills
• Hitting Theories

The hitting clinic will provide all the education, training and experience a batter can handle. If the batter has the ability and desire to succeed, she will. We believe in developing confidence in our hitters so that they will always be ready. There will be lectures, videotaping, demonstrations and experience drills to help our hitters develop the confidence known as the “Winners Edge.”


In addition, coaches and parents are encouraged to attend, take notes, and ask questions.

Clinic Directors:

Directed By Chrissy Semler

Chrissy Semler was recently selected to take over as Head Softball Coach of the Massasoit Warriors. Her experience is extensive as she has been playing softball for 23 years and coaching for 15 years. She has held coaching positions from little league through college with her specialty being to coach pitchers. In addition to coaching at the college, Chrissy also serves as a Latch counselor and teaches psychology courses. Coach Semler is a private pitching coach for many girls in the area as well. She has extensive experi-ence working with girls of all ages and abilities and her background in adolescent, young adult and sport psychology give her a unique perspective to coaching.

Featuring Melissa Kelleher

Melissa Kelleher is in her fourth year coaching softball at Massasoit Community College. For the 2011 season, Melissa served as the head Women’s Softball Coach after serving for the previous two and a half years as Assistant Coach. When Melissa joined the staff in 2008, she brought over 20 years of experience as a player and 10 years of coaching experience at the collegiate, AAU, and junior Olympic levels. She was also a member of the Warriors softball teams in 2006 and 2007.
