And now the Ray Allen shooting drill:

First select a side. Start on that side, and have all but 2 people in that line at Y on the side you chose. The other 2 people stand by C2 on the OPPOSITE side getting ready to pass the ball. At C1 you make a jab step, and then you go around C2 and step close for a 3. Then you get your rebound, and become a passer. After you pass, you go back in line. Then after everyone has gone a couple times, switch sides. The things that you do ON BOTH SIDES are
- step close around C2 for a 3
- step close floater in lane around C1
- curl around C2 and go up for a layup, while someone hits you with the pad
- curl around C1 and go up for a layup, while someone hits you with the pad
- step close around C2, pump fake, take one dribble in, and shoot a mid range shot
- step close around C1 pump fake, and go up for layup with pad.
Hope this helps!

Thanks ToughD for this post... I read it and i think there are awasome advices... In particular I think the first part about the lay-up and the pump fake is very good for me and other guys that aren't very tall. I was always afraid to be blocked in the last season, so I took less shoots than I could take. I hope that in next season this councils will help me.
Thanks, man!
Hey Vince! Thanks, I really appreciate your compliments. If you ever need any specific advice, just post it on this thread. Also, what level of basketball are currently playing at? I might be able to give you some age-specific tips. And be sure to check out my other post, Mental Aspects of Basketball. Just hover over my name and you should see it.

Baller98:
Hey! I apologize for my absence! It's been really busy preparing for basketball season. As for tips on confidence, it all comes with practice. If you practice enough, then you will know that you are good and that no one can stop you. Also, I once again recommend a great book, Mind Gym. It is a great book that hits on all aspects of mentality. And if you play other sports, then you will also be able to associate with it as it talks about other sports.
And for the scoring moves, I think a player like Dwyane Wade is a very good player to watch. Dwyane and I are very similar, and Dwyane is also a very strong mental edge.
This is a baseball quote, but you can apply it to basketball.
"Hitting is 50 percent above the shoulders."
Just think about that quote today.
