Hello. I am new to longer distance running but lift heavy and hard 6 days a week in the gym. I ran my first 5K this weekend and had no problems at all with it but I am curious about weight lifting and whether or not the size and muscle growth will hinder my chances of succeeding in 11K races and up. I have found a new passion for running and want to continue with it but do not want to sacrafice muscle growth and size to do so. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it is possible to have both. Please keep in mind that we are not talking Steroid size growth but I am 5'6" and a solid 188-200lbs at any given time. I lift heavy and intense all the time..and want to make sure that I am able to accomplish all of these things. Your input is greatly apprecaited as I lack the knowledge to truly know which direction to go.
