6 miles of fartleking my way down the road.

Nice day but the wind was horrendous.

Hershey half-marathon: too much? No, not really. Too fast? Started too fast but that fixed itself in the later miles. Too soon? Definitely too soon after Wineglass.

Also they took what was a lightly rolling course and revised it into a hilly course. Nothing real steep or real long. It just seemed like every time you looked up, the course went up.

I figured it might be a little soon, Len. You survived it nontheless. Congrats.

10.5 miles for me today. It felt good to finally get back into double digits.

Good runs Gents!  I did 1:45 mins a tad faster than planned, I was ready to stop at that point glad I didn't have another 2-2.5 hours to go.  I am planning on 1 hour next week-end and hope the legs/joints hold up for MCM!

Dave, I think it was only because of Wineglass being tougher than usual.  I ran Hershey with Carl (as well as Wineglass) and he was having the same issues.  After the race, the two of us "old guys" were congratulated by a much younger woman (30-ish) who said she was trying to hang with us at the end.  We had a good laugh over that.  We had walked a 1/4 mile or so before running it in the last 3/4 mile. Hard to imagine that we were a hard act to follow.

I don't rightly know that I've ever seen fartlek used as a verb before. Heh.

The wind was unbelievably annoying all weekend. I figure I could have run my 8 miles just standing in the parking lot if I faced into it.

And of course the wind shifted when I turned around, so I had headwind coming and going. Extra workout points!

So I decided last night that I'm going to have an awesome race. Just warning you all. I don't care how slow this one is. Really. Five hours? Seven hours? Bring it. I just want to come home.

God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy.
