BEER

Some times I drink a couple beers the night before a run will it effect the run? Do you think this affects my performance? Will the fact I have a couple beers waiting for me at the finish help inspire a faster time?

Happy New Years All - now back to beer.

    Re: BEER

Last year's "Beer" thread has been safely and securely locked away in a remote depository beneath the Appalachian Mountains ... okay, it's really on a Flash drive in my backback, but as long as no one tells, we're in good shape.

I have a lofty goal of compiling the three previous "Beer" threads into one volume by the end of this year, along with whatever we come up with in the next twelve months.

Anyone who would like to remain even MORE anonymous than their CR login name already may be, should let me know; i.e., if InsideRunner would like his super-pseudo-pseudonym to be like "IndoorRunner."

Thanks for all the good work last year.
    Cheers.

    Randy.

Let's keep this one ... if my name is on record as "Topic Starter" some may consider that a bit too self-serving.

    Re: BEER

Perhaps there needs to be two threads: one for Beer and another for American beer, just so the two topics don't get confused.

Thanks to whomever (I threw it in the escape pod before I pulled the self-destruct)

How many different Sam Adams brews can you name?

    1. Old Fizziwig Ale.

    2. Christmas Porter.

    3. Boston Lager.

    4. Sam Adams light.

    5. Cranberry Lambic (worst Sam Adams in my opinion.)

    6. Winter Ale.

    7. Summer Ale.

    8. Chocolate Bock (does this really exist? I've never seen it.)

    9. Octoberfest.

    10. Black Bock.

    11. Triple Bock (?)

    12. White Ale.

    13. Sam Adams Variety.

    14. Cherry Wheat.

    15. Sam Adams Boston Ale.

    16. Samuel Adams Hefe-Weizen.

    17. Same Adams Pilsner.

NOTE: I am not employed by or associated with the Sam Adams or Boston Brewing company in any way. In fact, I have given up drinking for 6 months to concentrate on running - just in time for baseball and Summer Ale.

Good thought, except for two rules of "Beer Thread Operation":

    1) The Beer Thread can never stay on topic for too long

    2) All topics must eventually become confused

You forgot: You do not talk about the Beer Thread.

I thought he forgot something my father taught me:

There are actually between 47 and 63 rules & guidelines. No one quite knows what they all are, so we are most likely in constant violation.

I thought there were either: six, twelve or twenty-four.

    Re: BEER

Some very nice ones can be had 22 oz. at a time.

Example: Just before the Xmas holiday I had Dogfish Head Pangaea.

    quote:

    from the website:

Brewed with ingredients from every continet (crystallized ginger from Australia, water from Antarctica, basmati rice from Asia, etc...), this is slightly spicy ale, with a mouthful of rich flavors.

    7% abv

Imagine a fruitier (orange), spicier (ginger/clove) version of DFH :60 IPA and you'd be pretty close.
