Great event very well run
My first trail run
Course is very technical
They had great support staff
T shirt is average
Would do it again in heart beat
Even won male master -cool sunglasses as prize
I run as many of the Dirty Spokes / Xterra races as I can. The events are first class and well worth the enrty fees. Big Creek has the worst footing of the series so the next 3 Xterra's will be easier to negotiate.
Great race. Third year in a row running it myself. By far the hardest technical course of the 6 races in the series. Only downside was that these ended up being 10.2 mile and 5.6 mile races.

Awesome race! Yes, like what everyone else is saying...such a tough course! But well worth it. As always, Dirtyspokes is the BEST! Great people, great weather, see you all at the next Dirtyspokes event!
It's a very good race, but they seem to have a problem making it the same course year after year. It is supposed to be 9 miles, but they say in the results that it was 10.2. I don't think it has been the same course year after year. But it is still a good race, but extremely treacherous, with an abundance of rubble and sharp rocks that wreaked havoc on a lot of people, who ended up battered and bruised.
Very well organized. Clear, well marked. My first trail race ever (I dont count the LOST race (Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail)) I will definitely do it again. I even scooped a 3rd placed award for my age group, so... BONUS!!
Well organized. Great course. Starting in waves would reduce traffic in the first couple of miles. Also, accurate distance expectations would have been good. The "9 miler" was actually 10.2!
This event is very well organized, and while the rocks and roots make this a very technical course, I have participated in all three years! Great Time! Fun Atmosphere! Well Done Dirty Spokes!
I really enjoyed it and hope they continue to put it on every year. Well organized and fun trail. Only suggestion would be that they start the 5 milers at 8:00 and 9 milers at 8:30 so the trail is not so congested in the beginning.
