Thanks everyone for giving me tips on making the basketball team and working on my game, unfortunately i didnt make my high school team but now i feel like this can give me the opprotunity to really work hard on my game and be better than the players who made the team so at the next tryouts i can be a huge benefit to my team.
So how can i achieve these goals:
I know its alot of questions but i would greatly apprecitate it if i could get tips on at least a few of these. Thank you
workout in your schools weightroom, jump would be squat, deadlift, passing would be just work on bounce, chest, and all the passes your coaches want you to do i am a 5'1 and got cut as well. defense would be shuffle.
Become physically fit as possible:
1) Warmup ( high knees, slow sprints, back peddle, etc. )
3) Warmup ( make ten left and ten right handed layups )
4) Run 3 - 5 suicides every day
5) run 1 - 3 17's ( 17 times the width of the court in under a minute ---- up is one, back is two )
6) Sprint hills or stadium stairs
7) Jump rope
Speed dribble the entire length of the floor and finish layup ( R & L ) Make 5 layups on each side. Then speed dribble down the court and use a pull up jump shot ( make 3 on each side )
Grow taller ( NOTHING .........let nature takes its course )
PG skills, be a lockdown defender, work on my passing skills: play pick up basketball every day against older, more mature guys.
This is a good start.
