Re: BEER
So, my father came to Germany in March. His second trip. I think he brought the worst clothes in his closet including his dirtiest baseball caps! Which he left on his head in resturants. That's just my Dad...its not a bad thing. But he did return naturally, with a Paulaner cap as well as a Hofbräuhaus hat!

Re: BEER
I remember my travels by the baseball hats I take or bring back.

Mexico: NY Yankees; brought back a REAL sombrero, with rhinestones and everything

Spain: Nike "Just Do It"

Colorado: Flyers hat; brought back a CO Rockies hat

California: another Nike hat; brought back a "Grumpy" hat from Disneyland

St. Thomas: Flying Fish Brewery - Cherry Hill, NJ

San Diego/Las Vegas: brought back a "House of Blues" Las Vegas hat

Yes, Smartypants, we finally got a computer at home that is worthy of Comcast High-Speed internet; and not just a glorified typewriter.

Re: BEER
Hello beer thread. Don't let me get you off topic (ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha).

Actually, I have no beer related commentary.

It's very hot here, and I took the day off from work. I can't really post from work much any more because things have changed (I'm not intentionally being vague, it's just too boring to get into.)

We are buying Sam Adams these days, because we're poor, but I think I'm going to stop that because it's just stupid -- for a dollar more I could have something better. I really, really, try to buy something at the boozeterium that's cheap but I don't want any of it. I look the mainstream beers and I feel like, 'why bother?' It takes the fun out of it, like if I had to buy wine in a jug with a screw cap. (We did this once, as a kind of joke, but I suspect my drinking companion secretly hoped that it would be interchangeable, or at least, close to interchangeable with 'real' wine. It is not.)

Epilogue: Since my daughter was concieved in St. Thomas, I wore the same hat in the delivery room. Just for luck.

Jeez, I hope you just wore it for the delivery.

Re: BEER
That is the best thing I read all day......as well as RM's response. I wonder what the hospital staff thought.
I almost stayed home.We had no power last night. Then my running watch alarm went off and wouldn't turn off.(I threw it out the side door)......

That's what Floyd thought; he just forgot to lose.

FWIW, I don't think he did. And we never found out what beer he drank the night before that epic Stage 17.

That's the kind of quick thinking we all need in emergencies. Kudos to you!

I wish my power would go off. No, I don't actually. I have one air conditioned room and I've taken the day off from work and am lying in bed tapping on my spiffy new laptop with my dog and my cat sleeping next to me. I have three beers in the refrigerator, some cheese, and a willingness to make a grilled cheese, should circumstances require that I do so.

I'm pretty much set for the rest of the day.

Re: BEER
I did not want to eat anything when the power went out. As for the watch coming back, I rescued it. When things in the house urinate me off, they are flung out the side door: the remote has been out there, as has the elec can opener that opens sometimes and dumps its load other times. The Beave just sighs and hauls it back in.....the best was when I had the
Kirby vacuum out there.
We have little "technology" in our house.Add to that, it is pretty much unfinished. Think painted drywall, subflooring, etc. I just throw rugs and decorate around it all. Kind of like camping 365 days a year. But it is 100% paid for, so as we work toward being "debt free" (yeah, right, sure), we tolerate this hippie existence.

Am pretty sure work knows I am in here a lot. Too hot to care.

Not a mother,LT, but did miscarry several times. Preg is a total trip and a solo trip. My sister is on prednisone though, and has many weird symptoms.

Re: BEER
D'Wife might have gender and role identification difficulties as she's always pointing at me and saying "You mother ...", especially when I'm beating her at Sorry.
