Best way to time the intervals

Hello I am not an experienced runner but not a newbie either. Years ago I ran a few 5ks. Well after 3 kids I need to get my body moving again!! So we Kids and I are going to start the c25k.
My question is how do you time the 60 second and 90 second in the first week? We are planning on starting to run today!!
When I did c25k years ago I just used an inexpensive sportswatch with a lap timer. Mine was a Timex Ironman that I bought from Walmart or Target.
Now there are smartphone or ipod apps and podcasts you can load on any mp3 player that do all the work for you. Do a search for c25k apps and you will find many to choose from.

Timing can be an issue for me. My glasses need repacing & tend to steam up anyway so a watch doesn't work well. I don't have any sort of auditory device. So I count steps. Jogging - I cover a minute in time in roughly 200 steps & roughly 90 seconds of time walking 200 steps. It's not exact but close enough.
C25K STARTED: 10/12/11
COMPLETED: W2D1

I bought a GymBoss timer to use for walk/run intervals and it's great. You can set 2 intervals, loudness of beeps, and even vibrate. It cost me a wopping less than $20 bill. Google GymBoss or search for GymBoss on Youtube.
For your steamy glasses:

Buy the Couch25k app for your smart phone, it gives you verbal queues for each segment,
and you can have music playing the same time. It has other nice features like showing
you a record of the days you have completed, and has various other timer options you can
set as well.
I own a Gymboss, but its WAY nicer to hear "Ready, RUN" and "GOOD JOB... start walking"
rather than a mere beep
Heck the pro version of the app will only set you back 1.99, its
totally worth it!
