OK, so I post on my usual 50 + thread, then see a new thread and wanted to congratulate the new member on his accomplishments, so I type a short reply. I hit reply and get this message

"Messages are being throttled due to frequency."  

What the heck???? I understand if active is doing this to cut down or elimate spammers, but this is too much for regualr members to fool with. I suffered through all the site problems a few weeks back. I've enjoyed the support and encouragement of members for a little over 2 years, but this is getting rediculous!  Am I the only one that is frustrated?

    I get that message a lot,  usually the first time I try to post a messge. This site is extremely slow anyway, but when I can't read and can't write, I just give up for a while and go to forums that aren't as difficult.

    I thought it was just me - the site is frustratingly slow to load which is a shame. The members here are fantastically suppotive & the advice, excellent. Hard to ask anything or reply when it takes 3-4 minutes to load.

    Oh, Marie, beyond my own frustrations, which have been huge and exactly as everyone here has noted, I have seen a huge change in the threads. Many folks have just stopped posting and I know they are still running. They've probably started on other sites and that is really a shame. Where there used to be many responses, there are few and this chills discussions. Topics are being missed or glossed over because folks can't post or don't have the patience to post.

     

    Personally, I moved to where I'm living for work and have no friends or family locally so I rely on cyber friends a lot for support. I used to be able to post during work on my lunch break and participated in four threads. Now I am only active in two threads and can only post on the weekends because the site is so slow it is at a standstill in the evenings. I am SO disappointed in Active. All the goodwill they have built by hosting these threads is quickly unraveling.

     

    Let me know of other sites whre you've found similar threads? I'm ready to leave.

    It won't be easy but it will be worth it!

    Webpro - good idea. Will do. The thing is this cannot be a surprise. The restriction has been on and off since the upgrade. It's just the message that's new. I wonder how many posts on this thread were throttled. But what I really want to know is whether Active is throttling because it has determined I post too frequently or because all posts are too frequent. Anyone know of other sites with similar threads?
