GPS in a race?

I recently bought a 201 Garmin GPS. I ran in the forest preserve and it did not have any problems with the trees. It gave me accurate distance and pace. I wear my polar HRM in the races but why or how would I use my Gramin GPS in a race?

Re: GPS in a race?
I imagine that a GPS would be quite a useful tool in an adventure race, though every adventure race I've competed in did not allow them. In triathlons I'd guess the only practical use it would have is running speed, but a watch plus simple arithmatic can give you that.
