Re: no Doz?
I used No Doz occasionally a few years ago when I was working 3rd shift. I also had issues with my stomach but I would take one pill with a Mt Dew chaser when I was absoluately exhausted. It usually got me through an extra 4 hours with no problems.

Re: no Doz?
Whatever you do, don't take it and run. My husband took it before a race and ended up passing out right before the finish line. When I came across he was being put on a stretcher and we spent the next few hours in the emergency room with his heart about to come out of his chest. He told me he had taken it after we got to the emergency room.

Maybe a triple expresso with an extra shot.

200mg is often quoted as the maximum safe daily intake of caffeine. The UK bans pills with more than 50mg of caffeine and many other countries ban quantities greater than 100mg.

Re: no Doz?
I use the Wal Mart brand which are way, way cheaper.

I'll pop 1 or 2 one hr. before a run. I'll pop 1 anytime beyond
2 1/2 hrs.. Of course I hydrate well with complex carbs and electrolytes..

Re: no Doz?
There is something I use called "Energy Up Time". I have Multiple Sclerosis and a real problem with my energy levels. I am also a long distance runner. My natural medicine doctor recommended it. It's all natural (I know I know, just cuz it's natural doesn't mean it's good) but in this case it's ok (for me). She wanted me off caffeine (I drink a lot of coffee) and gave me this as an alternative (it doesn't rev my immune system like coffee does). This helps me get out there on the train even when I am drained at the end of the day.

The ingredients from the label: Spirulina Blue Gree Algea, Wheat Grass, Alfalfa Leaf, Caffeine, Papaya (fruit), Silica, Cayenne (fruit), Siberian Ginseng extract, Echinacea (herb), Ginko Biloba extract, Carnitine (tartrate), CoenzimeQ10, and Chromium.

I can buy this at our local grocery store, at the Sun Harvest and even at 7-11 in the little packages usually reserved for truck drivers.
