The official 'say 'No' to weekend binges' thread

OK, so I can eat healthily during the week, no problem, and feel encouraged that I've lost a pound or two. When the weekend comes, though, I find myself eating the wrong kind of things, so:

1 I get demoralised
2 I think 'well, I've already undone all my good work, so I'll start afresh on Monday'
3 Hey, if I'm starting afresh on Monday, I better make the most of the rest of the weekend. Pass me the pie!

Often the 'weekend' starts on Friday evening. I need to do something to stop this cycle. About a year ago, I posted a similar thread, which got a lot of positive responses. Basically, the idea is this:

1 We make the decision to take part in this thread.
2 On Friday, Saturday and Sunday we post what we have eaten. Hopefully this will help motivate us to keep an eye on our food intake.

So - anyone up for this? I'm posting it now so we can get a few people on board by the time the weekend comes along.

Here's to binge-free weekends! Send a reply if you're interested.

I'll join in. I'm doing WW right now and every once and awhile I have a day (maybe not on the weekend though) where I just go crazy. Again the mentality is well, I've screwed up might as well make the most of it. I guess we just have to remind ourselves that the food will be there tomorrow and just eat that deliciuos yummy "guilt" food in moderation. No deprivation!

Re: The official 'say 'No' to weekend binges' thread
The same thing happens to me every weekend. I just back back from a Christening. Before I left I had a healthy lunch, telling myself not to touch the food that would be there (the usual baked ziti, hero, cake, etc.) and then I would have a healthy dinner this evening. Oh no, I had a complete lack of self control and am feeling totally guilty right now... Can't wait for my run tomorrow!

Re: The official 'say 'No' to weekend binges' thread
It doesn't help that Sunday is my rest/no exercise day! Haha. Not only do I eat A LOT more but I sleep late and sit on my butt all day! haha
Seahorse - I try to do the same thing but have heard that if you make the restrictions you are more likely to binge. Then when you have just one piece, you throw in the towel. Perhaps if we allow ourselves to have some of the healthier options we won't go overboard!
I have my bro's wedding coming up. Any suggestions on how to deal with all the dinners/showers ... food that I wouldn't normally eat GALORE!! I need help!!

Re: The official 'say 'No' to weekend binges' thread
It is good to see that I am not the only one who feels the need to "indulge" on the weekends. I think posting/reading here will help me see that I don't need the extra 4 helpings of pizza or Thai just because it is the weekend. Great idea!

Re: The official 'say 'No' to weekend binges' thread
I find that one excuse always leads to another. I guess I just have to stop making them! I too have a very busy summer coming up with lots ot "eating events" such as my sister and best friends weddings/showers/rehearsal dinner... Give me strength!

I'm in -- I have been trying to shed the same 7 pounds for a year now and everytime I get close to it, i blow it and gain it right back -- usually due to a lack of discipline on the weekends. So, expect to see me here so that I can FINALLY get rid of these pounds before my wedding in July!

I'm in. The hardest part is trying to get back on track after I have fallen off the wagon. So we will post what we eat on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday correct?

Re: The official 'say 'No' to weekend binges' thread
I'm in........weekends are always the hardest for me to. I can post on Saturday, what i ate Friday, but i'm not into work on Sunday, so on Monday, I'll post what i ate on Saturday and Sunday. Does that include alchol? It probably does.
