Re: Is calorie the only big factor to losing fat?
The analogy that crosses my mind involves some guy who uses kerosine to fuel his car despite the fact that everyone else uses gasoline. Though it sputters and bucks, the car does get him to work. Then, one day he decides to reduce the mass of his car by removing 700-lbs of bricks from the trunk. Suddenly his times for getting to work drop dramatically and the car drives better!

So I walk up to this guy and say, "if you only used gasoline instead of kerosine, you'd see an even bigger improvement." To which the guy replies "why change it if it works?"

That's you TE. You're the guy who uses kerosine in his car.

Hairy Trotter is a liar. The half-pound hamburger in the HamDog looks at least 12 ounces to me. Lance did not mention them on Oprah which proves that he eats them all the time.

BAP:

I am not a liar. The information I possess was passed on to me through my foil hat, into my fillings, and into my head. Therefore, when I watch stuff like Oprah and the Tour De France, I get the Real Truth, not the lying little words that come out of Al Trautwig's mouth that everybody else is forced to hear.

Though I admit that my half-pound estimate on the Hamdog might be a little conservative when I look at the photographic evidence[/URL" target="_blank">.

Which is why Lance eats two of them before that Alp d' Huez thing. It was right there in the TV coverage of the Tour. If you know what to look for.

So TE, you improved over 23 years.

Here is my complete half-marathon record:

Age 20 - 2:13
Age 21 - 2:08
Age 43 - 1:48
Age 44 - 1:44
Age 44 - 1:44
Age 44 - 1:42

That's a 31 minute improvement in 24 years - without going ultra low-carb.
<HR>

------

Well congratulations on running faster at 44 than 21.

Did you take 20 years off or just not do the 1/2?

Any weight loss involved ?

20 years off.

I have lost 35 pounds since February 2004 initially on a 40:30:30 c/p/f diet.

I was the same weight at 44 as i was at 21.

Have you ever read the book "The 48 Laws of Power"? As I remember, one of the laws is that you get people to think you are doing one thing, yet you do another.

One of the laws I constantly break is "Think as you like, but do as others."

Law 9

Win through your Actions, Never through Argument

Any momentary triumph you think gained through argument is really a Pyrrhic victory: The resentment and ill will you stir up is stronger and lasts longer than any momentary change of opinion. It is much more powerful to get others to agree with you through your actions, without saying a word. Demonstrate, do not explicate.

Edited to delete a lot.

Ya know, before I said, "please make it stop", but now I say...

I have never seen anything like this thread before. I wish you luck resolving this. Personally, I will stay with my balanced diet.
