Re: Friday Dec. 21 Boomer Runs and HolidayTraveling
I have been an infrequent poster, but I am staying here, not chasing all these other sights. My running is starting to get consistent and hoping my posts here do the same. Today rode the stationary bike for 30 minutes, ran 4 miles @ 8:50 pace, then lifted weights for lower body.

tw, you are an inspiration. (actually, you are) :-]

craneium, nice work. I'm glad to hear that you'll be here.

jp, you too. I might do the same thing. for several reasons. it's hard to start on a new running board when you can't run. but I'm trying hard to get there & am planning my return attack. if you need more posters on the over the 50's board, I'm legal.

evan--gorgeous pictures. my BIL used to live in or around Fairbanks quite a while ago. Since he now lives in Thailand, I sent him a couple of your pictures so he can remember what he's missing. http://community.active.com/images/emoticons/wink.gif

Re: Friday Dec. 21 Boomer Runs and HolidayTraveling
Ah, Kevin, that'll get him running back! (not) Would be interesting to know more... sometimes I know a lot of people who lived here awhile ago, but hardly anyone who lives here now. I was on a flight back from Seattle to Fairbanks last month (direct flight), the flight was full, and I knew only one person. Very odd. A few years ago, there'd be one person I didn't know!

Tomwhite, you are so funny. I'll have to have you tell me how you did all that. What were the snowflakes from?

Well, since this is a running thread... I'll post my run. 4.5 miles on the treadmill, don't know the time exactly cuz I got off at 2.5 miles to "use the facilities" and by the time I got back, the TM had reset. Oh well... I think it was about 22 minutes for the first 2.5... then 16:35 for the last two. Should've run outside cuz it was +2 here at home... forecast tomorrow is -20. This place is definitely a "you snooze, you lose" prospect for catching the nice weather breaks.

Re: Friday Dec. 21 Boomer Runs and HolidayTraveling
evan--just got an e-mail back from BIL. (I've got staying up late duty waiting for DD to return home) He said "well fall's over, now it will really get cold" ;) I'll try to dig up some details of where he used to live. I know you're a native alaskan, but always in Fairbanks?
