Great news !!! .... our Efforts have paid off ... this e mail is Confirming our First

GGSL "Pre-season" Tournament

This tournament will be a 4 game format

Each team will need to pay just $240 for this 4 game Tournament

that's it ... no gate or other fees ....

4 games ... in Gwinnett County .... $240 = Awesome deal !!
We are still working on a few details ...

but, we wanted to get this Information out so that Everyone can start planning

and Everyone can be confident that this League is going to happen

As of this e mail .... teams will need to provide Game balls for this tournament

but,we are working on a "deal" to provide the softballs for this tournamentand then even give our participants an opportunity to purchase moreGame balls at a "bulk" value .... more info. later ....

10u teams and 12u teams will be Hosted at George Pierce Park (Suwanee) - North Gwinnett Athletic Assoc.

14u teams and 16u - 18u teams will be Hosted at Bay Creek Park (Grayson/Loganville) - Grayson Athletic Assoc.

As of this e mail 7pm Wednesday 2/1/12

We have

(6) 10u teams "confirmed"

(3) 12u teams "confirmed"

(4) 14u teams "confirmed"

(6) 16u and 18u teams "confirmed"

We are working on "confirming" 1 more team in the 14u and

2 more teams in the 12u age group

Below is a spreadsheet of the teams that we have "confirmed" by age group and the teams that we are trying to "confirm"

If you are receiving this e mail and are not "confirmed" or if you know of another team in the 14u or 12u age group

Please RSVP .... we will also consider 10u, 16u and 18u teams especially for our Regular season games

Thanks again to ALL for your Efforts to get this League going on very short notice

Please also keep in mind that we will have "Mandatory" Scheduling meetings the week of February 6th

Age groups will be required to meet with ALL teams in that age group present to Schedule regular season games

These meetings will be attended by a GGSL board member to Coordinate the scheduling efforts.

Teams will be expected to have dates and times that they can Host games at their Parks

Each team will be given opportunities to schedule home games and then "agree" to travel to local Away games

At this scheduling meeting we intend to have the Tournament schedules and we will expect the teams to pay the

$25 GGSL registration fee and the $240 per team Opening Tournament fee

Please bring 2 checks as the

$25 check will be made payable to GGSL

and the

$240 Tournament fee will be made payable to the Host travel association, or team, or Park = TBD

GGSL "Mission Statement"

The Greater Gwinnett Softball League’spurpose is to serve Girl’s Travel Softball in and around GwinnettCounty, providing local venues to reduce those expensive and lengthytrips out of town.

Weare made up of “A” and“B” Level teams and share a common goal ofpreparing our teams to compete at a high level in the many softballQualifiers and Tournaments.  Because we are local, we have the addedbenefit of providing much needed early season tune-up games at arelatively inexpensive cost.

Wewant to emphasize playing softball and favor many weekend "mini"tournaments (Saturday and/or Sunday) at various parks in GwinnettCounty.  In addition, we want to facilitate games on weeknights forthose teams who prefer that option.  In either case, each individualteam will make their own determination as to how many games they willplay.

While we do not prohibit awards, trophies,etc., our emphasis is to play ball, holding individual team cost to a minimum.

Our interest right now is the Spring and Summer, however, we will offer an option for the fall.

We do not require teams toregister with any national association; however, all teams must provideproof of insurance.  In that regard, it is sometimes easier to join anational association just for the benefit of the insurance.
