how are you supposed to get around people that are 6"0 and taller?and that always block your shot!
throw it higher nd softer
this is cool advice but were is the baby hook.
What they forgot, and maybe cuz all these moves are primarly for fast break is the pump fake. If your 5'4 and 6'3 dudes are under the basket, they cant help but try to block. pump fake, step around, layup.
Another thing to remember is to not get too fancy. A lot of young players try to do crazy acrobatic layups when finishing at the basket. Don't be afraid to take contact when you go up for a layup. If you get hit, just go to the free throw line to get your 2 points.
Tucker your right except for the fact that getting hit in the air runs the risk of injury, and sometimes that injury means the downfall of your team.
injuries happen in basketball theres nothing anybody can do too avoid it.
and these are good moves, and they actually work, so for all you young players out there work on this stuff, it will pay off for u in a couple of months ![]()
and svcards53 the way too beat taller people is most of time time big men are aggressive so use the up and under move just pump fake then when he jumps dip under and u got an easy basket.
thanks a lot for the advice

Or you could fake your shot but that might not work because your defender might be right there but you could try it to make it more simple. I can not think of any way for those big and fast 6 foot but that might help. You can trust the article too.
@SVCARDS53 the best way to beat a guy who is way bigger in the post is to either get them to commit to one side and then go the opposite derection, or shoot a reverse layup, since those are nearly impossible to block. I know, I am one of the 6' people you are talking about.
If you want to learn to finish at the rim watch a video clip of Derrick Rose, go to youtube and type in derrick rose and find the one bye xfactor541. Rose is a tremendous example of the body control and strength needed to finish at the rim. DO NOT HOLD THE BALL AT YOUR HIP that is exactly how defenders can get at the ball. Hold the ball out level with your right shoulder for a righty layup and left shoulder for a lefty layup. Hold the ball at your shoulder and spread your elbows in an upsiide down V. This way ref's can see the people hacking at the ball and it is much easier to absorb hits and finish with the ball already up. Lastly, you must be sure to keep your shoulders square to the rim to mantain strength and balance in the air. Practice by driving into someone with a pad and learn how to finish through hits. Another good way to practice is to pull a basketball hoop over to a trampoline and practice jumping high being hit and mantaining balance in the air to finish.
Nice advice how to do a floater or a reverse, only one addition: If you go reverse, use your outside arm to put it in. For example your left arm if you're doing a layup from the right. If you do so, you protect the ball, so you get fouled if he tries to block you.
