Oooggg! W8D1
I was trying to cram this in last night to stay on schedule. I had a client flying in to look at a property at 7:30, and was supposed to meet my daughter who is here from NYC for dinner at Bar Marmont on Sunset at 10:00 PM. I knew I was going to be cutting it close, so I put my basic running gear on under my business clothes, showed the property and made a dash for the high school to make my run on the track. Check the time, 8:45, if I hustle I will make it. I am sitting in the parking lot rearranging my clothes and put the key in the door handle, all the while thinking that that is a dangerous thing to do. I get changed, separate the key from the others and put them back in the door handle, lock it up, adjust my ear buds and start the warmup, about half way into the warmup, I realize I didn't bring any water and I debate back and forth about just pushing through. I usually take a bottle and leave it standing in about lane 5 so that about 1/2 way through the workout I can sweep it up and take a couple of guzzles.
I know I will do better having it, so I veer off the track and head to the parking lot and reach in my pocket for the key and realize I have put the house key in my pocket and put the car key back in the door handle and locked it inside! Doublecrap!!!!! Sure enough, I'm locked out. Luckily there is a basketball league playing so I am able to bum a cell phone and call AAA, and the guy shows up in 15 minutes, unlocks my car in 1 minute flat (wow! - a lever, a little airbagpump device and a long wand with a sticky knob on the end.) I rush home change clothes and make a mad dash for Hollywood and am only 15 minutes late! Had a great time, small pasta dish, one Manhattan and lots of Pellegrino and conversation; got to bed at 1 :30 AM.
7:00 comes very quickly and I drag out of bed and do w8D1 at our Central Park that has tons of baseball and soccer fields. I feel tired and draggy and really struggle through the program. I think my shadow was jogging faster than I was.....
W8D2 will be tomorrow night and I will be back on track and things should be fine..
