I the same question... I keep coming back and seeing if anyone replies... I do think it must have something to do with being relaxed though as I have swam more and started to relax it seems i get a little less bloated.
It has happened to me a few times since I started swimming - mostly in the pool. Once I was in pain for a couple of hours after my workout and it slowly subsided. I thought it might have something to do with swallowing air?
Most likely you are swallowing air. Just like when you were a kid burping on demand. The only problem is that you are not getting rid of the air.

I do too! In fact just getting into the water makes me hungry. But diet can definately make you bloated. Apples and some other fruits can distend the abdomen because they take a long time to digest. On top of holding your breath underwater this can make a bloated belly even if you're hungry!
