I'm typically an 8-minute miler, 5Ks and 10Ks. The year started off great - almost all of my runs were at my goal pace of 8 min/mile or better. Then I strained my left foot and had some pain across the top of the foot, took a couple of weeks off, came back pretty much pain free. Then my wife had surgery and I did much less training than usual for a couple of weeks about a month after the injury. Now my times are horrible, and I'm having trouble lasting for my "long runs." I tried to make 10K today and had to stop after 5 miles, average pace way down at 8:44. What is my problem?
