It was a difficult, hilly course but it was very well supported. If you live in Georgia, you need to train for the hills. My wife and I have been doing one 5K every month this year and this has been our favorite one so far.
Ran the 10k today, really enjoyed it. Was a hard, hilly race, with the last 1k almost all uphill. Pretty much all through quiet residential neighborhoods. Very well organized, friendly, for a great cause. I'd run it again.
Would not run this race again. The course (and the signage) was very confusing. The course monitors did not know how to direct runners. The final turn before the finish was not clearly marked and a volunteer wrongly directed me to turn right and I had to run an extra loop.
As others have written- this is a hilly course so if you are not prepared it is quite a challenge. Not a good first 5K if you are not training with hills. The event registration and post race were well organized. I ran the 5K which was easy to follow the signs, but the split near the end for the 10K threw some runners off. The tech t-shirts are great. Will run it again knowing there are hills, and for a great cause.
Well organized with friendly volunteers. The course itself was very challenging with hills that few were probably expecting. Doing them the first time was ok but them hitting it again for the second loop of the 10k was abit draining. Hope they find a flatter course next year.
A great cause! Well organized and loved the breakfast and events back at the church. Course too hilly, especially for those just out trying to support the cause. Also needed more water stations....recommend not having the race on the same day as such a prominent race as Komen for the Cure...difficult to choose which cause to support.
