Perhaps the most enjoyable run of the year. This first year event was more well organized than many long standing events and I'm looking forward to next year already. The trail: the fans: the finish line: all of it. Thank you for putting on a great trail race. I'm coming back to Mayo lake soon!

For my first 5K I had a really good time. The scenery was wonderful but the trail was a little bit more technical than I had anticipated.

This was a well-organized race, and I was impressed that it was their first time holding this event! I appreciated very much the volunteers, who were warm and friendly, knowledgeable and competent. The race announcers were charming and hilarious! I just love small, volunteer-driven races like this one. Only two things I recommend they change for next year:

    (1) Please opt for recyclable or biodegradable alternatives to Styrofoam bowls, and try not to use so much plastic. Paper cups and bowls are good choices, because at least they break down once they're in the landfill, and they won't leach carcinogens into our ground water.

    (2) My running friends and I were all eyeing the 1-milers' dog tag "medals" and wishing we could receive those instead of the T-shirts. Is it possible you could do away with the t-shirts and give out medals instead next year?

Thanks so much for all your hard work. It certainly paid off!!
