How to Convert/Edit Sony HDR-CX100/SR1 footages in Windows Movie Maker

Windows Movie Maker is the free video editing software installed on a PC using Microsoft Windows OS. However, probably because of the copyright issues, Windows Movie Maker only provides supports for a relative small range of formats. Unfortunately, the most popular AVCHD MTS/M2TS footages captured by Sony HDR-CX100,HDR-SR1 are out of the range. So how to import Sony HDR-CX100/SR1 footages in Windows Movie Maker for further editing? Any Suggestion?
