Yes, I am still alive! I had my knee checked out on Wed. They couldn't explain why I am having pain- they think maybe the screw in my knee is causing me irritation. He gave me a shot, but it didn't do any good, except made it feel worse. Anyway, knowing that I am just 'mental' I am going to attempt to run again. Maybe if I load up on pain killers, I will be in lala land while I'm running and won't feel a thing.

Very proud of the progress everyone is making. I am going to give it another attempt because all of you inspire me.

Deb

Deb, remember pain is a message from your body that something is not right. Did you ask the doctor about running?

Hey Brian! Haven't ran since the 5K last saturday and I'm feeling like a big loser because of it! I hoping to kick things in gear starting tomorrow. Awesome job to you and Amy @ the Community Olympics 5K. You both had fast & speedy times!
I'm really not it it for the speed, just to finish and feel good that I was able to do it. John "The Penguin" Bingham is my hero in "No need for Speed" and in "The Courage to Start." I highly recommend both of these books to the newbies of the KearneyCruisers. They are both @ the Kearney Public Library. Angie

Brian
I am also still chugging along. Kristen and I have been running on thursday nights. She continues to be very kind about waiting up for me. So if anyone else would like to run with us that would be awesome. We try to run around 9:00p.m. it is cooler and we can get the kids in bed. I wont be here this week but next week would be great to have a few people get together. Angie we probably run at the same speed so it would be great if you wanted to come and thanks for the books I will check them out.

Hi cruisers! I've been a little inconsistent with running, but did run today while I was at the lake. I was pleased and surprised that I ran a whole mile without stopping. Anyway, I am hanging in there.

Keep running!!! Deb

Re: kearney cruisers
Hi, Brian.

Heard you ran in the Lizzie Stratton 5K. I am still running. Sorry I haven't been on in a while. I am up to 3.6 miles, 4 times a week. Going 4 mi. tomorrow. Only problem I have is that I have to run early in the morning in the nice cool temp., but it is very dark at 5:00 a.m. and I get spooked easy.
I am looking forward to nice fall early evening temps. Sat. is supposed to be nice and cool. YEA!!

Hope you are having a great school year!

Lisa I.
