Top 10 Defensive Players in NBA of All Time

People not always focused in on these great players' offensive skills and attributes, little people talked about how good these guys were defensively. They are all stoppers. Now, top 10 greatest defensive players of all-time in NBA history -

1. Hakeem Olajuwon
2. Kareem Abdul-Jabaar
3. Gary Payton
4. Wilt Chamberlain
5. Michael Jordan
6. Dikembe Mutombo
7. John Stockton
8. Bill Russell
9. Ben Wallace
10. Alonzo Mourning

Feel free to add who is missing.

Where'd you get this list? Bill Russell at 8? Where is Scottie Pippen, many believe he was a better defender than Jordan. Ummm no Tim Duncan? He's been on more all defensive teams than anyone on that list and he doesn't make the top ten? Bruce Bowen or how about Larry Bird's favorite player-Dennis Johnson?

Don't be offended but this list is at best incomplete and at worst not very intelligent.

My list is similar, but i made a couple changes, its not in any particular order, but the top 10 are

Scottie Pippen
Michael Jordan
Dennis Rodman
Hakeem Olajuwon
Bill Russell
Alonzo Mourning
Dikembe Mutumbo
Gary Payton
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
Wilt Chamberlain

i excluded stockton, because he wasnt as much of a stopper, as he was a stealer, where scottie was a LOCKDOWN defender who could guard almost any position
ben wallace is out because i had to make room for the real thing,dennis rodman, an undersized gritty defensive player, who did all the dirty work for his team, ben wallace is really more of a watered down version of dennis

Jordam, Olajuwan, Pippen, Payton, Abdul-Jabbar, Howard, Rondo, Russell, Chaimberlain. Not in order

To be honest, I'm kinda worried that I don't see Kevin Garnett, Ron Artest, Shane Battier, or Bruce Bowen. They're on my list, along with Manu Ginobli, Rajon Rondo, Scottie Pippen, Ben Wallace, Gary Payton, and Bill Russell. Not in order though. Lol, You can't forget the active players!
