Re: C25K started today (7/28)...anyone else?
Okay, I was in the middle of telling you all how great W6D1 felt (even after missing 3 days) when my new Anti-Virus program shut me down to tell me it needed to get rid of a virus. Exciting, maybe my computer won't be slower than my running anymore.

YEAH! All of us!!! It's still too weird to tell people that I'm a runner - so I tell them all I'm learning to run. I get a lot of strange looks.

YAY! Everyone is doing GREAT!! I'll do W6D1 here in a little while...

Whitney, I usually track my weight in the mornings...but I did weigh-in after my run the other day and it said I had lost 5lbs since weigh-in that morning!!! Holy cow! I made sure to drink drink drink water after that.........not sure why it shows such a dramatic loss, I'm sure I didn't sweat 5lbs of water off, but I guess it could happen...LOL

Keep up the great work all!

Re: C25K started today (7/28)...anyone else?
I FINALLY got to put my X on w5d1. I felt better yesterday so I went for it. It was tough but I never considered quitting. Today I feel so sick again. I have no idea why. I am totally running tomorrow though. I feel better just thinking about it.

I must admit I am scared to death of 20 minutes!

W6D1 done!

I did add an extra 3 minutes at the end of my last run though to make it 5+8+8 minutes. And as always, the first few minutes was the hardest, didn't think I would be able to do the whole run. Obviously I did!

Re: C25K started today (7/28)...anyone else?
hey guys, zkbmama here...bringin' up the rear...slowly! Completed 4/1 here this am. I haven't run outside in the am before and I really liked it, though i prob wont be able to do it much because of my husbands work schedule and the kids...really more in line for me to go in th epm after the kid go to bed and it isn't so hot...bt really like the am....loved beingout there int he dark and watching the sky brighten from my efforts! Did a pretty good job...thought a couple of times that I could never do the 20, but then thought to myself-hey now, don't get a head of yourself and all your buddies can do it so so can you! I kind of feel funny now...like i am a wanna be on a thread with a bunch of "real" runners! great job you guys! I used the graph feature on my cr running log today and I am improving. I was running almost a 19min/mi, and this morning I did my oute in 10 minutes...I am okay with that! Off to put some X's on Doom.

Re: C25K started today (7/28)...anyone else?
I feel like I was the only one that the 20 minute run was hard for and then I did w6d1 yesterday and it about killed me. I think some things were going against me from the beginning like the only time I had to do it was in the middle of the afternoon so it was so hot and it was only the second time running on a hilly trail. I'm hoping that was the case but I think I'm still going to redo w6d1. On my last 5 minute run had to walk for a few steps several times so I don't really feel like I was successful in finishing it. I really hate to get behind the majority here, but I have to do what's best for me. Good luck to everyone moving on.

Re: C25K started today (7/28)...anyone else?
Yea! w6D2 is finished. No more walking intervals. It's hard to believe that I feel this way. A week ago, I was scared about no walking intervals. Today, I am glad that there won't be any intervals anymore.

Great job for everyone who finished week 5! We have come so far in just a few weeks.

amski9- welcome to our group. Most of us are on Week 5 or 6 of the program, but you are welcome to join us.

Re: C25K started today (7/28)...anyone else?
Greetings folks!

Hope everyone is well and the gods have been nice.

Personally I have been taking it kinda easy lately. I'm not sure if it is the heat or overtraining, but I am sore. More than the first week. I have been walking on non-running days and running every other day. I have decided to take the next couple of weeks and skip the walking ans see if that gets me back on track.

Running every other day really hasn't been an issue as I can complete the runs with little trouble. I am just sore/tight all the time. I have contacted a personal trainer to work with on loosing it up a little.

I am hoping this is just a phase and not the introduction to injury. I have scheduled a 5K this saturday, so I will just rearrange my run days to fit it in nice and slow. Somebody has to be last, right?

Kent

Re: C25K started today (7/28)...anyone else?
Hi! You guys are doing great!

Well, I let the holiday get in the way of my run yesterday and I never got around to doing it..........HOWEVER I did just complete it....W6D1...gosh it was probably my worst run ever...LOL

I don't know if it's cause I took 3 days off in between, but I'm telling you I WON'T EVER do that again LOL.....and since I like doing my runs on Mon, Wed, and Fri I'll do D2 tomorrow so I'll be on track.

Can't believe I went from a great 20min run Friday to horrible intervals LOL......I did them though without stopping any so I guess that is all that matters although my heart wasn't in it.....

I hope to have a better run tomorrow!

You all are doing a terrific job!!!! YAY!

Re: C25K started today (7/28)...anyone else?
Everyone here is doing an amazing job. Getting out and running the program, especially since we started in the middle of horrible heat and humidity - our times can only get better, right? I really feel terrible that I'm not happy with my running. It's not even that I'm in pain, or having a hard time running (I run SLOW, so that's not a big problem). I just feel whiny since school started - didn't want to go today, tired, my feet hurt. Ran anyway, enjoyed parts of it, but I want to go back to being happy about the whole thing. Someone tell me I've flipped my lid and get off the pity party. Hate to whine when you're all doing so well, are so excited - expecially the people who are genuinely ill and have a right to complain. Sorry.

Keep up you're great work, everyone!

Re: C25K started today (7/28)...anyone else?
Wk6D1 wasn't so bad. Felt strange to run intervals after last week.

Seda- I don't think we are always going to be 100% each running day. I had to force myself to go tonight. Life can be distracting and get in the way. Just remember you have already committed yourself to five weeks going on six. You are not on a crazy new diet fad...you are on your way to improving your health. I know you don't want to let yourself down and be back here in six months starting on week one, telling your new group that you did the program once already and you made it to week six and stopped. Am I right? That is what keeps me going, oh and I just spent a weekend with my in-laws. I had enough anger and resentment to fuel tonights run and then some.

Don't give up and tell yourself IT IS NOT AN OPTION TO QUIT. Everybody has had a **** run so far. Don't let a **** run ruin it for you. I will allow you to quit only when you blow out a knee, got it!

Cowgirl up and keep going. You can do this. We are all here with you.

Keep up the good work everybody!

Good for you Slikgirl!!!

My dad always said, "If it was easy, everybody would do it!"

Hang in there guys and let's finish this thing, I know it will be worth it!

Week 6, Day 3 tomorrow morning at 5 a.m. My knee is sore and I'm tired, but after tomorrow, I will be on Week 7.

You guys motivated me in the beginning, so I know you have the grit.
