August Goals

Better than yesterday had a thread on July goals and I didn't see it until this morning...so I thought I'd start one for the new month for those of us who didn't see the thread...

My August goals are:

1. Finish the month on week 6 of C25K (wow!)
2. Lose 7 pounds (more would be nice but not expected)
3. Go on vacation!
4. Re-read Psycho-Cybernetics (Dr. Maxwell Maltz) to work on any mental hangups I have in order to achieve my mental and physical goals.

I'm anxious to see y'all's goals as well! Don't forget to come back and post your results at the end of the month!

Well.. I hit all of my goals for July which is awesome for me. Here's a list of what I would like to accomplish for August!

1) Accumulate atleast 45 miles by the end of August

2) Run a second 5k

3) Ride 15 miles a week on bike

4) Start strength training

5) Wake up 1/2 hour earlier to walk dog every day (I've really been slacking since I got a fence!)

6) Lose additional 5 lbs to bring me to 157

My August goals are the same as July (since I didn't do most of them) with a few additions and revisions:

1. Run 3-4x per week EVERY week (finish week 4 OHR)

2. Lose 5-10 pounds

3. Do yoga AT LEAST 3 times per week

4. Limit "junk food" to 3 times per week

5. Make and send invitations for wedding party at end of September

6. Meet some new people in my new area by joining at least one activity...any ideas anyone?

Re: August Goals
I'd like to tag along, if I may ... I did my own goals for July, inspired by this thread - I did great for the first two weeks and then was overcome by exhaustion due to getting up at 4:30 every morning - I'm hoping to get back on track with the goals below:

1: Work out at least 5x per week. I would like at least 4 to be running as a whole, but I had a rest week last week and I'm working up slowly, so will include running, biking and strength in my weekly goal. (Ex: This week I'm hoping to run 2x, bike 2x, 1 strength)

2: Write every day for at least one hour (I'll give myself 2 days off in case of emergency)

3: Eat fruit at least 3x per day - veggies are easy for me, but I usually use fruit as a snack and sometimes forget about it.

4: Apply for at least one job every week.

5: Continue getting up earlier (pre 7 am) on weekends - this was one of the goals that I completed for July.

Sorry this was so long - good luck to all!

Re: August Goals
Hey first time posting to the "Goals" Love the idea.

Mine are:

1) Run past 3 miles. Just can't seem to get there.

2) Quit smoking (probably why I can't run past 3) I only smoke like 2 a day though. But still, no reason for it.

3) Start putting in some morning runs.

Re: August Goals
Peg,

What a good goal... morning runs are hard for me, but would be easier if I got them out of the way sometimes... It would be hard to take the dog on a morning run before I go to work since she needs time to cool off with water... I will have to try it though!

good luck with quitting smoking!

Re: August Goals
Yeah, I am a closet smoker. Don't usually like people to know. I don't smoke all day at work. When I go for the beers though, my lungs hurt the next morning. I may need to add that one to my goad too. lolol. Need to quit drinking on Fridays. Not good for the Sat. run. HAHA.
