LL Challenger Exhibition Game at Williamsport – August 25th, 10:30 a.m. (PBS/WVIA, ESPN3)
Of course, after that game, if you are so inclined, you can switch to ABC and watch the International Championship and US Championship games.
Thanks for the tip Lou.
The TV schedule out of WP that I printed 7/24/12---did not have the Challenger game listed.
I, and others locally, will be watching.
We, in our District, are very much into running a Challenger division; have been for years.
Two things stand out at the venue:
1)---Parents/guardians--watching, wiping tears--(of joy)--from their eyes seeing their Challenged charges out there playing.
2)--No shortage of able bodied kids/players out there as "Buddies."
There does exist a LL Challenger Rulebook that many people are not aware of.
But truth be told, given some of the "problems" these challenged players have----rules are applied "loosely."
It's all about their being out there, playing, that matters.
You;d be hard pressed to watch one of these games and not see anyone crying at one point or another.
You are correct, there is a Challenger Rule Book but it there is ever a time to "through out the rulebook" it's during a Challenger Game.
Challenger and Special Olympics - once you get involve they've got you hooked.
