Re: Marathon Trainers...week of Aug 5th
Welcome Jackie!

Bikegirl, there is a chance that if you let the computer dry out before you turn it on it will be ok. If the inside is still moist when you turn it on it could fry out. And if there was a lot of sediment in the water the machine may not work. But if it was clear water you may be ok.

Good Luck.

How was Evan's race?

Bummer about the short run. You did the right thing- you don't want to hurt yourself. Can you get your run in in the early morning or evening when it is not as hot?
I wish you luck!

Bike - "That sucks doesn't even come close, but that's all I can think to say. That was a heckuva storm. I was whining because we didn't hit Geauga Lake today due to the rain. I took the day off and everything. I'll stop complaining now.

Bike- I am so sorry about your "leak" YIKES!!

Bug- yeah, I switched from Asics to Brooks, BIG mistake. When I had my feet tested the man said the brooks might work, they didnt have them in my size at the time so I went with the Asics which were perfect. I dont know why I tried to switch, it was dumb of me

I would LOVE to seel stuff around the hosue to get $$ for sneaks but we just bought a new home (2 weeks ago) and have nothing that we dont need since we cleaned out before we moved in. I have to wait until next pay day

Jackie,
Well you can sell those shoes! Just put that they are almost new in the description, and why you are selling them. I've made thousands selling stuff on ebay, but haven't felt that ambitious in awhile. That shoe site is: URL=http://www.holabirdsports.comhttp://www.holabirdsports.com[/URL]

ShanGen,
Ya last night I was thinking maybe I overdid it. I took it easy today, and will run tomorrow night. Sometimes even an extra 1/2 day off seems to help. Most of my soreness is in arms and abs. I'm tired of looking like a runner.

I should cut back this week, since I didn't last week, the weather was just too nice. I would much rather cut back on the weekday runs, instead of cutting back the LR like Higdon's schedule does. It is just easier to fit in a 19 mile run on a Saturday than a 9-10 during the week. Not sure if this would be OK or not.

BikeGirl,
If you get your computer working, get anything important backed up right away. It will be at high risk for future problems. Cash, is right, make sure all is super dry. That is why my DH went in my laptop with a hairdryer.

Re: Marathon Trainers...week of Aug 5th
willamona- just make sure you have someone willing to come rescue you! I almost got stuck tonight. I could tell the storm was coming but I was hoping i'd just get rained on a little. Big mistake. ABout three miles from my house the thunder and lightening started. Then the sky turned green. That really creeped me out because it wasn't raining that hard. yet. I turned around and started booking it home as fast as my slow self could carry me. Luckily, my husband noticed the green sky and came out looking for me. Just as I jumped into his car, the sky exploded. Apparently there was a severe thunderstorm warning for our county. Oops.

bikegirl--so sorry to hear about your flood. I can relate...we came home from a skiing vacation one winter to an exploded water tank and about six feet of water. It was a giant PITA.

I'm off to bed so I can get up early tomorrow morning. i want to get in my 10 mile run before it gets truly disgustingly hot out!

bikegirl, I'm so sorry to hear about your flooded basement. I hope you're able to dry and and salvage much of your things. Don't delay in getting that wet drywall down. You don't want mold issues!

Bugs, you're tired of looking like a runner!?!? Geesh girl, I think you look great!

I turtled around to get in a 5 mile recovery run this morning and was really glad I didn't have to do anymore. I can't wait for this heat wave to be over. It was 81 degrees and 80% humidity at 5:00am.

Re: Marathon Trainers...week of Aug 5th
7 wet, sloppy, hot, slow miles this morning. Was gonna do 9, but got out the door a few minutes late. Add in the decreased pace due to heat and I only had time (and the will to be honest) for 7. Ran at 10:35 pace. Haven't slowed down that much in a while.

Wishing I was in "shirtless shape".

Only 4 today but it felt like 8-10. This heat is a real hammer on the legs and soul. Oh well, what the **** else would you rather be doing ?

We'll soon be complaing about snowy trails and begging for some heat.

Keep Striding!

Princess,
smart to put sleep first, that's important too. Sorry to hear about DD being sick.

Chased,
Oh, I'm just having a midlife crisis. I don't know whether to have a tummy tuck, or remodel the kitchen cabinets. All looked better about 10 years ago.

Re: Marathon Trainers...week of Aug 5th
MP - good job on sleeping!!! Especially since it's not like you were just sleeping in... Glad to hear DD is feeling better.

Bugs - i didn't see any tummy to tuck in the picture!! I say go for the kitchen cabinets... then when it's done cook dinner in nothing but sexy lingerie... you'll feel better when you realize you guys skipped over the meal you cooked and went straight for desert

SO you know you are a runner when story time...

It's been super hot here and very muggy. Running has been gross. At 3am i woke up to the sound of rain... I laid there for a good 5 minutes debating going for a run!! I didn't due to lack of lighting and girl paranoia, but I seriously thought about it - remembered where the head lamp is and everything!!
