I gotta go with my favorite all-time player and that is Pistol Pete Maravich.

Larry Bird is obviously a very close 2nd while Dirk and Steve Nash make up the current top players.

I like larry bird and Nowitski but i hve to say tht larry the best

I am going with two international players in a tie. Steve Nash (Canadian) and Dirk Nowitzki (German) are both great current players. They will both are future hall-of-famers. Steve Nash is my favorite. He gets better with age and has won two Most Valuable Player awards in a row. He is leading a dominant team into the playoffs right now. Steve Nash has a slight edge on Dirk Nowitzki. Nowitzki and the Mavs are a dominant force heading into the playoffs. Or, I should say were a dominant force heading into the playoffs. As of now, the Spurs have a chance at taking them out. Back on subject, Dirk is a shooting big man, rebounder, and huge presence on the court. The all-time best Non-African American basketball player would be Larry Bird. He was just all-around fantastic. Also, he has won a few titles (unlike Nash and Nowitzki).

Larry Bird Hands down, him magic and michael were the three all time best, he beats Dirk because he is a better shooter and rebounder than dirk, and those are dirks two MAIN skills. passingwise larry is one of the best, his skill level in that area was close to majic's and not many knew that, he has plenty of no look passes and pinpoint passes to make a case for that. and the thing that guarantees him over dirk, is his anticipation. he may have been the best ever in that aspect. his vert was 28" but he was a great rebounder, he knew where the loose balls would end up and was always in the right place at the right time.

my all time list of white players

PG:John Stockton (yea i put him over pistol,stockton was better at running a team and put up better numbers than nash, plus a lot more steals

SG:Jerry West(white michael jordan, numbers were pretty close)

SF:Larry Bird(obvious)

PF:Kevin McHale(no one had better post moves)

C:Bill Walton(do i have to even argue this one?)
