Got in 2 sets of core/strength work yesterday morning and some speed work last night at the oval torture chamber. Ran out of time to do the whole workout, but had some pretty fast times in the 200s and 400s I was doing. (Had to get back home to cook supper.) 2-mile warmup 16:04; 2 x 200; 2 x 400; 2 x 200. Walk 400, complete recovery, then second set. Made 2 x 200 and 2 x 400. Had to leave. 200s were between 38 and 41 seconds. 400s were between 1:28 and 1:32.
Tonight I tried to Kill the Hill (my 4-mile route with the 1/2-mile uphill after the 2-mile turnaround). I may have hurt the hill, but I didn't kill it. I had to walk up a little of it. But, I still managed a 31:03 for the 4 miles.
Sunday is the third 5k in the summer series here. Flat course. I'd like to PR again, but as the PRs get better, they of course get harder to beat.
Next week we're in Anaheim to see the Red Sox visit the Angels. Don't know what I'll be able to get in for runs, but I'll have my gear ready.
Lastnight we found out we have "OnDemand" Time-Warner cable TV shows (free) that have running, stretching, and Yoga instructions/tips, among other things. Hhhmmmm. There's more than NESN, ESPN, and Golf Channel on that thing?
Coyote.... Same problem here with inconsistent weekly mileages. The good thing is I haven't felt terribly bad on weeks when I don't run a lot. But then again, I haven't put in a really long run in a while.
Melody.... I hadn't seen those race tag holders before. Good idea, though. And great new running partner you have!!
6x... Good to see ya.
EMTTrix... Didn't have to do all those things as a volunteer, but did the dummy search/rescue/drag a few more times than I'd like to have done.
JustRunDan.... Agreed. The TM origin story was great.
Chell. .. I count my walking time for the reason you mentioned...to get a better picture of how I'm doing. Also, if you don't count the time, how do you account for the distance you walked?
Everyone have great days.
