Just finished the C25K program! I blogged about my experience and how training went and thought I'd share it here because it would have helped me if I had logged in here earlier to see what other new runners were doing! My husband is a really experienced runner, and it can be a little demoralizing and hard to set realistic expectations for your running when the only comparison you have is someone who runs three marathons a year.
I loved reading your blog post. I'm inweek 8 now, and looking ahead to that first 5K. Trying not to worry about time (I'm very slow), and just focusing on going the distance. There will be time to improve in the next race. Not to mention, I know I'll at least achieve my Personal Record in my first race
Have fun at your first 5k! Focusing on the distance and not the time was so critical for me in having a great first 5k experience, it was enjoyable and I felt like I worked hard but didn't push so much that I couldn't make it to the end without needing to walk! Jogging the whole time was really fun. Now I'm signed up for my second 5k and don't have the benefit of knowing it'll be a PR... eek.
