I finished my first Half Marathon and met all my goals!! I finished feeling (reasonably) strong and did not injure myself. My hubby, sis and bro in law were there to cheer me on. The morning started out very wet and cold, but the rain stopped just as the 1/2 marathon started. Beautiful countryside, fall colors and a well run race. The hills were brutal. I felt like I nailed the big hill at mile 5, 8 and 10, but the uphill at 12 through the finish were tough. I finished at 2:43:05, 6th in my division of 11 total (old ladies in our 50's). I definately had NGRGirls "ugly cry face" going on! LOL The time was much better than I thought it would be. My sis snapped this shot of me on the UPHILL finish! Wow, were there a lot of hills! I'm so happy to have this "under my belt" Yay!
NHLA So cool about Sandy and the deer, that's amazing! As are your miles.
Old Coyote I can understand your fatigue with the early rising and the "grind" of the training. It will be worth it! I'm glad the 13.1 was a sweet run.
NRDgirl Thanks!! I though of you today at the finish, when the tears just started flowing.
linuscatch LOVED, loved loved your thoughts about your last run. Beautiful, thanks!
noraspberries Way to go, girl! I hear ya on the "find a bush i can hide behind and squat" <~ Hate that!
Today, the Porta Pottys were such a luxury!
Debm2011 Thanks, Deb!!
Francessmom Welcome! I'm so impressed with the "split leash" thing AND your half marathon time! Nice
jmsab23 Thanks, buddy! No rain today, but killer hills.
justrundan Wow, that is a lot of loss!
I shed a few tears today thinking of my mom, my mother in law and my beautiful niece who just had a baby and now has to fight cancer too. ((Hugs))
