Anybody here run on the PCT (Pacific Crest Trail)?

It runs over 2000 miles from Canada to Mexico - I've lived here for almost 10 years and did not even realize it was literally in my back yard! I've done 3 runs now on different sections of the trail and I've loved it, so different than running on the road. Often see lots of day hikers and thru-hikers, one from Italy even!

It's a little far afield for me, but I do have the Appalacian Trail handy here.  It varies considerably in runabilty, but is definitely worth the effort.  Just approach it with a dollop of common sense, and don't go getting yourself into the newspapers.  Trail running can be a delightful experience.

I hope you can find some local talent to take you out for an innaugural run.  I bet you will really enjoy it!

Ask Active Toby.  He does a lot of trail running in that area.

No, but I am in December. I am doing the Woodside race.  The photos are amazing and I think it's wonderful there is such a trail.

I've only ran/hiked small sections. Sorry, I'm not much help.

However, here's an interesting documentary that might give you a flavor of running the entire PCT in one push:
