No 10k PR tonight, but still had a very good run -- 43:47. Cranked it up a little too late, but ran the final 1.2 miles at 9.2 and above. Weather today wasn't exactly like you other springtime runners had, with temps only reaching about 38 or 40. Very foggy, too. Tomorrow starts warm, but with rain which will be clearing off, hopefully by 9 a.m., when I run with my son's buddy. Then cold returns.
Maine bikers have an annual Toy Run in August, when bikes from all over the state ride into the state capital and they all bring toys, with some of the bikers wearing Santa outfits. You can hear them coming from a long ways off sometimes, if they've picked up enough riders along the way. It IS very impressive.
Melody.... "Get 'er done" is always good.
NHLA.... I saw a poster of a road that stretched out with four or five rolling hills/dips. The words on the top of the poster were a paraphrase of the Nike slogan. They said.... "Just do them." Of course, I thought of you.
Snerb... Sounds like an excellent return run after 6 weeks!!
Degregorious..... 12 miles at any pace is a very good run in my book.
Marykay..... I can't remember where I read it, but it was last year and the article said if you've been training pretty much steadily, you can take up to a 2-week break before you have to worry about muscle-loss. Sometimes the body just needs a rest.
Dilljeffrey.... NO, I do not run in -20. The coldest I've run in is around 27, or something like that a few weeks ago. I hate the cold, despise the rain, and am allergic to hills.
Coyote.... Still keeping fingers crossed for you.
