16U INDIANA RAYS looking for the future of softball!!!!

The Indiana Rays are looking for young ladies who eat, sleep and dream SOFTBALL!!! I want to start off by saying two things first. 1) No other sports will be allowed if you play for this team. No volleyball, basketball, soccer, or cheerleading and especially other travel sports. The only sport that will be allowed is softball for your high school team. That is all. No exceptions. 2) You must have at least two years prior travel experience, no exception. Experience counts heavily when it comes to playing highly competitive travel ball.  Girls with at least two years should have a solid back ground in what it takes throughout the year when it comes to a feel for what travel ball requires from a young player. Now that we have this out of the way lets talk about the future...... your future.

The Indiana Rays are working hard now to form an "A" level group of girls to play 16U travel come August 2013. The team is slowly being put together now over the next 7 months through an interview process that starts with a simple e-mail from you. Then, if the information meets our requirements, a meeting will be set up for a private tryout. After the tryout you will know by that night if your young daughter has made the team. The process will go on until the team is filled with the right 12 girls. Your attitude about softball as well as your skill set will be tested at the tryout and both will factor into our decision. When teams are having tryouts in August we will be practicing at full strength. Each girl that is brought on to the team will be brought on for a specific purpose. Whether you play more than one spot on the field or do more than pitch really depends on your daughters skill set as a player. She will not play in a position that doesn't benefit the team!!!! We will play a heavy travel schedule with at least 2 tournaments in September and October.  Another 3-4 tournaments from November through February, followed by a full schedule in the months of June and July. We will play in Indianapolis, Elgin, IL, St. Louis, MO, and Columbus, OH to name a few places. These tournaments will be filled with heavy college exposure for our girls. Every girl who makes this team is expected to have a goal of playing college softball.  Practices will be two to three times a week in the fall August through November and one day a week December through February.  Going back to two days a week in the summer. Practice will run at a very fast pace!!!! This message will post on E-teamz the first of every month until the team is filled with the right 12 girls. The team is being built to win!!!  All practices will run out of the Valpo and Portage area.

Now what the Indiana Rays need from you. 1) Your daughters first and last name. 2) High school they attend and what grade they will be in at the start of the season come August 2013. 3) How many years playing travel ball. 4) What postion she plays. 5) What is it that she needs as a player to help her succeed. 6) What current team she is playing for and what is her current role on the team.

All information will be kept confidential and between me and you!!! The Indiana Rays as a team understand that your daughter is most likely on another team and playing out a season, but the information we have asked for is needed to fill spots and have private tryouts set up in advance. This team will be the first of it's kind in Northwest Indiana.  A pure softball driven team. Thank you for your time and we hope to hear from you soon via e-mail.  Please send inquiries to indianarays@yahoo.com.
