Happy NEW YEAR my mighty masters friends! We start this new year w/ a clean slate, full of hopes and plans. May it be a year of good running, health ad happiness for each of us.
AZ, congrats on the new little angel. A new years baby, how fun. My hubby's b'day in Jan 1, my daughter's is Jan 4....today. It is hard to sometimes come up w/ b'day presents after all the Christmas gifts.
Mimi, so sorry to hear that the MN is not healing and you may have to have surgery. As far as heels go, I wouldn't worry.....there are lots of cute flats. :-)
Our Disney Goofy is Jan 12 & 13. I have stayed right on training schedule except missed my last long run, ooops. Daughter hardly ran at all during December. Work for her was crazy wild and then she had flu over Christmas, so it makes me a little nervous, but whatever, we will cross the finish lines, even if we have to crawl or drag each other. LOL I've got to put the finishing touches on her costume tomorrow (mine is finished)so we can get a practice run wearing them. I'm going as Ursula, the sea witch and she is Ariel, the little mermaid. We are out to have fun and not worry about time, just as long as we are ahead of the sweepers.
Hopefully I can post photos after the race.. MaryKay the pineapple smootihie, complete with lots of meds, sounds like a must have!!! BTW, CW-X stablyx compression pants and compression socks are part of the costume. As your quote says, "it won't be easy, but it will be worth it!"
We haven't had any snow, but have run in rain, sleet. and cold. I got a rain jacket from Santa that has already seen several wearings. It cuts the wind great! I don't mind rain. I don't mind cold. I don't mind wind. Put them all together and I am not a happy runner, but the jacket makes runs in that weather bearable.
Urun, your mileage is amazing, esp since you have had a nast upper respiratory issue all fall.
Debra, great job on your first 2 yrs of running. Look at all that you have accomplished!!
Dan, Steve, Bill, not meaning to ignore you guys,, keep up the good work!!
Happy running everyone and stay safe and warm.
61 year olds must be out of their minds to run a half marathon followed by a full the next day!
