What do runners like to read?

What are you currently reading?

Me ... David Nevin's "Dream West." Historical fiction about exploring and mapping the Great American West in the 1800s.

anything relating to running or sports? I read Running Times, Bicycling, Outside magazines. I don't bike anymore but i like the style and i have a crush on the editor, Steve Madden, I hate to admit.

Off the shelf, I'm reading "Leading Change" which is about business leadership - it's polar opposite to what i do for a paycheck, but i've found that, like fractal art, concepts that work on a large scale can also be useful on a small scale, that is, in my life too.

I like those "out west' books from long ago - before cameras and electric lights. makes you think...

Runner's World
Running Times
Marathon and Beyond

Last book (just so I'm not too focused on one thing) Civilization and Its Discontents by Freud.

All to counter-balance being a technical professional.

Like most runners, I read Runner's World and Running Times. I also subscribe to National Geographic and Consumer's Reports Money Advisor. I am a financal kind of guy, so I like books like "Grow Rich Slowly", "The Grangard Method", and stock market stuff. I just finished Lee Iococca's "Where Have All The Leaders Gone", which I enjoyed. One of the things I learned from that book, among others, is that Yocco's resturant in the Allentown area originated from his Father's hot dog business and Yocca is Pa. Dutch for Iococca.

Some of us cheat and use books on tape while running. Personally I read Runner's World and nearly any inspirational running book I can get my hands on - just finished Bowerman and the Men of Oregon.

Recreational reading is anything from sci-fi, fantasy, historical adventure, and Jane Austen.

Yo,

Sorry it took so long to reply. The book's Freud's view oh the relationship between the individual and his/her society or civilization.

In my 20s.

Actually, never The Republic, but most of the other dialogs. They are a good example of critical thinking.

Descartes, too, but, after engineering school, I don't find the Rationalists so compelling.
