This was my first race and probably the most fun! The race route winds its way through rural neighborhoods, up and down hills, behind Floral City Park. This isn't a fast course, per se, since very little of it is flat. However, the last mile or so is generally a downhill trek which helps to pick up the pace and sprint to the finish. Last year (2012), our race bibs had a chip behind them. A horn blast signaled the race's start and everyone's time started simulateously. However, the chip signaled the end of each runner's race as we crossed the finish line. The results went up on the board within 15-20 minutes.
There were plenty of refreshments afterward and awards were handed out to the top overall runners and the top three in each 5-year age group.
I can't wait to do this race again!
