Just when I think its warming up, winter comes back, GRRR. I swapped my long run (6) to yesterday, Thursday to avoid freezing rain on Friday and Saturday. It was in the teens, but by 2 miles in I was comfortable.
I planned my run so that my turnaround at about mile three was the top of a hill. The hill started about a mile into the run and by the three mile marker I had climed 264 feet. My pace slowed to a crawl near the top, but I made it to the top. I am going to keep this hill in my long runs, to help me prepare for the 2.5 miles of mostly uphill running that climbs a total of 280 feet during the flying pig half. The best part of course, is that once I'm up, the trot down is a heck of a lot easier. This coming week, since my long run is done, is 4 easy, 4 tempo and then a 7 mile long run.
What does your plan look like this week?
