I ran the Buttercup half marathon yesterday and was very impressed with the small-town race. The first 3-4 miles are a gradual uphill on pavement, the next couple of miles are rolling hills on gravel, followed by several miles of downhill and level on gravel. The race finishes on a gradual downhill paved (except for the short section of farm field you must run through). I thought the course was fun and the community support at the finish was good to see. I hope to see this half marathon grow in the future.
