I downloaded mapmyrun last week but it doesn't do enough for me. If more expericened I think it would be fine but I am trying to learn how to pace.
I am a sprinter who does occasional 5k's. Now I am working towards a marathon. My pacing is all jacked up. On a 10 mile run last week, my mile pace varied by as much as 3 minutes.
With the ap only telling me where I am after every mile, I do not realize I have gone too fast or slow until it is too late. Ideally I would like quarter mile updates or, even better, something that every 30-60 seconds would tell me if I was on whatever pace I have selected.
I used to use mapmyrun and had the same problem. I found runkeeper and I love it! It breaks down your pace into every minute of your run so you can look at it during your run and see where your at before its too late! Hope that helps you!
Check out PodRunner.com. You can download an hour of music with a very specific beat and you can run to that beat. The downloads are free and you can find almost any beat per minute from about 140 to well over 180 bpm. It is great for staying on pace. If you like what you find you can slip the guy a few bucks.
