This felt like a more intimate race. Some 600 folks came out this year, and we all shared a single lane down and back along the Anacostia River. I thought it was very well organized, and the t-shirts (sweat-wicking! amazing!) and snacks were fantastic. Everyone cheered for each other, and it was all-around good fun, not to mention that it supports a great non-profit organization.
This is the 3rd time I have run this event, and must say this one was the best. It's always been well organized and of course, for a great cause. However, I love the fact this year's race was moved up to May from it's usual July start. Weather was great, course is flat, and the race isn't too crowded. Also, kudos to the volunteers as well, they did an awesome job!
