My last run was...how was yours?

My last run was 9.0 miles on the TM. Time was 89:50, I was planned for a Long SLOW Distance, but decided to kick it up and kept pushing for LONGER distances. Great fun. Look forward to Spring, but Im happy to have a TM.

Last run 14.75 miles on TM. Had to stop at 8.55m for a potty break. Kept it brief. Didnt want to get back on but after 0.5 - 1.0 miles it started to be okay again.

My last run was...how was yours?

I ended up taking three days off this week from sinusitis and bronchitis, so no running Wed. Thur and Fri. Today I managed 3.8 miles in 37 minutes. I am going to try and go a little farther tomorrow.

Just searched up this old thread because it looks like they brought back the old editing product again. "messages throttled" occurs even if you are editing content, forcing you to wait a long time to re-post, if you can get past the bogus "restricted content found" message.

I understand the legit reasons for what they are trying to do, but the editing product is inappropriately designed. I used to write software, and can tell you whoever is writing this one isn't very good.

Maybe they did a restore of the old system over the corrected version, which they appear to have done several months ago. Maybe somebody important is on vacation?

Last run was awesome!  It was raining but I went out anyway... with the kids in the double jogging stroller and wearing their raincoats!  I pushed hard and did sub ten minute miles even with forty five pounds of toddler in front of me.  Feeling pretty awesome!

If you want to see the cutest pictures ever of the kids in the double jogging stroller I posted them on my motivational running blog for new runners, iamrunningthis.com

My last run was...how was yours?

Its so hot in AZ my last run was on the treadmill.  When the last one broke (it lasted a solid 10 years) I tried to make due without, but last moth I broke down.  I knew I wouldn't keep up with my running over the summer without one.  Not to mention I've had so many incidents with loose dogs on my runs that I kind of like my treadmill.

Exactly the thread i've been looking for...

I just finished week - 2 of an 18 week Hal Higdon marathon training program. Did 8.6 on Saturday (scheduled 9miler), got out the door around 6am; weather was great (live in So Cal) and finished in 1:17/ 8:54 pace. Felt pretty good- kept it nice 'n steady.... could've slowed a little bit more, will remember this on my next long one!

My last run was...how was yours?

My last run was AWESOME!  It was my first 1/2 marathon.  I committed to running a 1/2 for my 50th birthday (last Oct), started training in February and finished just a few minutes over my goal time of 2:35.  Came in at 2:43 and it really was due to the incredibly hot blaring sun.  Had to take a few stops under the shade trees to cool down but other than that, it went exactly as I had hoped and I even saved enough energy to sprint at the finish line!!

My last run was...how was yours?

That's so exciting that your half marathon went well running4urlife!  I am signed up for my first half marathon the day before I turn 30, so I love the idea of milestone birthday races and I hope mine goes as well!  Mine is in September but it's in Virginia so I am nervous about the heat as well.  My first 10k was way slower than my practice times due to an unexpected heat wave... it really affects your running and your nerves when you're not used to it!!!

My last run was 7.7 miles on the treadmill (blah) because it was 85 out and I didn't feel like handling the heat for a long run.  That was my longest run ever so far... going to keep adding miles to the long run in preparation for that half in September!  I'm really excited to break 10 miles in July for my long run, that's a big mental hurdle.  That's running FAR, in my world!

My last run was...how was yours?

thanks kelly - glad you're committed to the training cuz it really helped me not only physically but mentally.  i hit a real bad wall in mid-may and wanted to quit.  i had the solider field 10 mile run in chgo that i had already signed up for and little did i know it came just in time.  after that race i was rejuvenated and excited to complete my training and finish the 1/2!!  i was exilerated for two days after the run.  keep posting about your training, your good days and bad days cuz that really helped me. that way other runners can encourage you and share their thoughts on things that may be helpful if you hit a wall or develop a muscle glitch.

    talk soon!

My last run was...how was yours?

Thanks Running4urlife - all good advice!  It's been good to keep talking to other runners... and even just keep seeing other people out running when I'm driving to the grocery store or walking somewhere with the kids.  It reminds me that the heat doesn't mean I have to stop running outside, even if it slows me down.

Summer is such a hard time to ramp up your training, because it's SO hot out there that it's not as enjoyable to run, and the treadmill gets so boring!  I run on the treadmill so that I can keep my ability and training going so that I can keep running more outside.  It's a means to an end, with the end being more outside running.

Never thought I'd miss winter, but I'd rather run in thirty five degree weather than 85, for sure!

I guess I'd better start trying to get up and go for a run while the kids are still sleeping!!!

Last summer I was just starting C25k so I was only out in the heat for twenty or thirty minute workouts, half of which were walking, and none of them where I was worried about maintaining any sort of pace.  Not used to getting out there and running so much slower!

My last run was...how was yours?

My last run has been last evening 14K in 1:35:00. Outdoor sea side.

It was good. Although I planned to go for 2 hours covering 17-18K.
stopped for a drink at 14K, thought I will then race for the next 25 minutes!
However, once stopped I just could not go for another 10 meters!! Legs became fully unmovable!!!

    Walked back home.

I turn-on an iPhone app for logging while running, this is my timing:

         5K: 30:05
        10K: 1:05:00
         14K: 1:35:00
