This might sound crazy but I have enrolled for a 20 km raceon 6/30 as a newbie.
This is all about my experience:
- no previous running experince. - started running in 2012 April until August. But did not continue after that. - restarted again this year for about 5-6 weeks now. recently i have been doing only long runs, every week 2-3 times. - Recent practice runs: 6/9 9.5 km 1:04, 6/14 15 km 1:44, 6/16 12.3 km 1:26.
My race is 20 km, time limit 2:30. My goal is to finish the race in time. I am slow but not concerned about pace, just want to finish the race.
From practice run, I can see, I am quite okay until 10km. Start to feel my legs tired at about 12 km mark. But I can go upto 15 km. Did not feel I could go another 5 km after 15km.
So I am concerned if I can finish 20 km in the race. Also the pracitce runs are better conditions: night time and beside sea. But the race will be morning and beside lake.
Any suggestion will be very helpful. I have another 2 weeks before the race (6/30). So I could do another 4-5 practice runs before that.
